Non-Ferrous Descriptions
CLEAN does not mean washed, it means free of other metals or materials such as rubber, plastic, steel or iron, soldering, insulation, paint, screws, or fasteners, etc.
DIRTY means containing other metals or materials such as rubber, plastic, steel or iron, soldering, insulation, paint, screws, or fasteners, etc.
#1 COPPER
Bare Bright, Pipe, and Wire each strand LARGER than 16 gauge (diameter larger than #2 pencil lead) free of all other metals and materials. No plastic coating, insulation, soldered joints, fittings, or paint. We DO NOT accept burnt copper of any grade.
#1 COPPER BREAKAGE
60% - 70% Recovery Insulated wire.
#2 COPPER
Pipe and Wire each strand SMALLER than 16 gauge (diameter smaller than #2 pencil lead) free of all other metals and materials. No plastic coating, insulation, soldered joints, fittings, or paint. We DO NOT accept burnt copper of any grade.
#2 COPPER BREAKAGE 50/50
35% - 40% Recovery Insulated wire.
STAINLESS STEEL PREPARED
Clean Stainless Steel containing NO other metals or materials. Prepared meaning cut into sections 3 feet or smaller in length and width.
STAINLESS STEEL UN-PREPARED (DIRTY)
Contains other materials or metals or larger than 3 feet in length or width.
ALUMINUM SHEET
Clean Aluminum no more than 3% non-aluminum materials upon visual inspection by purchaser.
ALUMINUM BREAKAGE
(Dirty) contains more than 3% non-aluminum materials.
ALUMINUM RADIATORS
Aluminum Radiators must be clean with no iron and minimal plastic.
ALUMINUM RADIATORS DIRTY
Aluminum Radiator with minimal iron. Plastic tanks and ends are still attached.
ACSR
(Aluminum Cable Steel Reinforced) Aluminum wire with steel center or all aluminum wire without insulation.
YELLOW BRASS
Clean Yellow Brass containing no plastic, iron, stainless, or any other metals or materials other than copper.
YELLOW BRASS BREAKAGE
Brass that has plastic, iron, stainless, Aluminum, or other materials.
ALUMINUM COPPER RADIATORS
Clean Aluminum Copper Radiators with all plastic, steel ends, and any other metals or materials removed. Must be aluminum with copper tubes.
ALUMINUM COPPER RADIATORS DIRTY
Steel ends, plastic, screws, or fasteners still attached to radiator. Not an excessive amount of steel.
ALUMINUM COPPER RADIATOR ENDS
Steel ends cut off aluminum copper radiators with copper loops attached.
SEALED UNITS / COMPRESSORS
Sheet metal AC compressors, oil drained, no cast iron or aluminum. Compressor only.
ELECTRIC MOTORS
Motor and pulley only. No fans, gear boxes, plastic, excessive steel, or other materials. Ceiling fans must be motor only, no housing.
